Police: Cat in Elysburg was rabid

ELYSBURG — The state Department of Agriculture confirmed Friday that a stray cat that attacked an Elysburg man and woman on Tuesday, had rabies, Ralpho Township Police reported.

ELYSBURG — The state Department of Agriculture confirmed Friday that a stray cat that attacked an Elysburg man and woman on Tuesday, had rabies, Ralpho Township Police reported.

The attack occurred on the couple’s property along Penn Ave.

A representative from the state Department of Agriculture canvassed the local neighborhood advising residents of the incident.

Police and township officials urge all residents to refrain from feeding stray cats and to be observant walking or cycling along Penn Avenue.

They did not provide any further information about the specific location of the incident or who was involved.
