Clarification - Trevorton Fire Company and Community Ambulance
| Share This Story: |
TREVORTON — A headline in a recent edition of The News-Item said the Trevorton Fire Company and Community Ambulance had purchased a utility vehicle to respond to off-road incidents in Zerbe Township. As explained in the story, $8,500 of the money came from leftover township grant money, and $1,100 from the fire company-ambulance.
Zerbe Township Supervisor Craig Scott further noted this week that the grant money had originally been targeted for an ATV purchase by the township police department, and that’s why it chipped in for the local emergency responders to make the purchase.
Also, he said, the fire company will approach Reading Anthracite, which owns much of the local coal land, to help pay $4,700 for a trailer for the utility vehicle.
