COAL TOWNSHIP — A 2-year-old boy who lost consciousness after falling into a swimming pool in his grandmother’s backyard Sunday afternoon was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Coal Township police said Jeremy Snyder accidentally fell into an above-ground pool at about 4:30 p.m. at the residence of his grandmother, Renee Snyder, of 23 N. Sheridan St. Police said the boy lost consciousness, but was revived by his mother, Erin Snyder, of 1500 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township.

The boy was then taken by AREA Services ambulance to Geisinger, where he underwent emergency room treatment before being discharged Monday morning, according to a family member.

Coal Township Patrolmen Chad Yoder and Edward Purcell assisted emergency personnel at the scene.
