Bartender charged
SHAMOKIN — The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement charged a Shamokin man with an alcohol offense after an investigation at the Par 3 Lounge in Shamokin on May 24.
According to court documents, a liquor enforcement officer, working undercover, visited the bar at 9:45 p.m. and observed Aaron S. Yoder, 31, of 500 North Oak Street of Coal Township, assisting a barmaid to serve alcoholic beverages to approximately 30-40 patrons in the establishment who had come from a wedding reception.
The officer noted that Yoder was drinking a bottle of beer while serving drinks at the bar, and reportedly continued to do so until the officer left at 10:25 p.m.
Yoder was charged with consumption of liquor or malt or brewed beverage while tending bar, a misdemeanor offense.
Charges were filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shamokin.
Coin theft
NEW CASTLE TOWNSHIP — Gerald A. Camardella, 67, of Stroudsburg, reported to State police at Frackville that sometime between July 18 and 31 someone stole several coins from his stand, located at Black Diamond Antique Mall inside the Schuylkill Mall. The coins were taken out of a locked glass case. Anyone with information on the matter is asked to contact state police at 874-5300.
Felony warrant
POTTSVILLE — A 21-year-old Ashland man was placed in Schuylkill County Prison Saturday in lieu of $10,000 straight bail, the Ashland Police Department reported.
Police reportedly executed a felony warrant at the home of Jeffrey Sartori, of 1027 Brock St., Ashland, around 12:05 p.m.
Sartori was allegedly wanted for theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Wallet found
MILTON — State police report a wallet was found along State Route 15 on Friday.
Anyone who lost a wallet along the roadway is asked to contact state police at Milton at 524-2662.
Public drunkenness
MARION HEIGHTS — A 19-year-old Marion Heights male was cited for public drunkenness Saturday after police reportedly received a call about a male lying in the roadway along Marion Heights Hill. Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski reported Joseph Abrahamson, 19, of 200 E. Warsaw St., Marion Heights, was taken into custody and cited for public drunkenness around 11:30 p.m.
According to a police report, Abrahamson registered a .124 on a Breathalyzer test.
Silly stringed
TURBOT TOWNSHIP — A 17-year-old female reported that sometime between 1 and 2 a.m. Saturday, someone sprayed silly string within the interior of her vehicle, which was parked outside of her residence.
State police at Milton reported someone also put toilet paper, corn stalks and Saran Wrap on the exterior of her vehicle.
There was reportedly no damage done to the car.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call state police at Milton at 524-2662.
Motorcycle accident
ORWIGSBURG — A 60-year-old Pottstown man suffered major injuries Saturday when he was thrown from his motorcycle, which flipped after it hit a metal traffic sign post on Brick Hill Road, 66 feet north of Route 61, state police at Schuylkill Haven reported.
Edward L. Feeser was allegedly riding a 2006 Harley Davidson FLHTC-I northbound around 7:45 a.m. when, while attempting to make a right-hand turn, the bike traveled up on a concrete island, hit the sign post with a sidecar and flipped, police said.
Trooper Edward J. Lizewski reported that Feeser was thrown from the bike and landed on the macadam.
The bike reportedly slid on its topside, coming to rest on the roadway.
After he received initial treatment at the scene by medics from the Orwigsburg Ambulance and paramedics from the Pottsville EMS, Feeser was reportedly flown by Medevac helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, to receive further treatment for his injuries.
Feeser was wearing a motorcycle helmet, police said.
State police were assisted at the scene by the Orwigsburg Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Police and Pottsville EMS.
The motorcycle was uprighted by support staff from Schaeffer’s Harley Davidson and taken to the business.
