ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP — A young Sunbury man was killed in a crash early this morning along Plum Creek Road just east of the intersection of Carroll Road in Rockefeller Township.
State police at Stonington report that David Rouse, 20, of 872 Plum Creek Road, Sunbury, was killed in the 3:40 a.m. crash.
According to police, Rouse was driving a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass east, apparently at a high rate of speed, and failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. The car traveled across the road and off the north side into a grassy field; its left side struck a utility pole. The vehicle spun clockwise, coming to rest in the field facing west.
Police were assisted at the scene by Americus Ambulance, Stonington Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company.
