Area physical therapists lecture at clinic
MARION HEIGHTS — Thomas and Lori Swaldi, Doctors of Physical Therapy and owners of Star Inc. Physical Therapy and Fitness, gave presentations at the Ninth Annual Pennsylvania State Strength and Conditioning Clinic held at Juniata College. Fellow lecturers were some of the top sports performance and strength and conditioning professionals from across the United States, including sports performance experts from the University of Kansas, the University of Notre Dame, Temple University, Penn State, Ohio University, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Richmond. Assisted by Matthew O’Brien they lectured on “Performance Enhancing Sensation: Training the inner ear for improved athletic performance.”
Star Inc. Physical Therapy and Fitness offers the area’s only balance and performance center. Using state of the art technology and Lori’s expertise as a clinical vestibular specialist, they treat patients with a range of impairments from balance dysfunctions and concussion management in athletes to orthopedics. CSO names Community Action director
SHAMOKIN — Central Susquehanna Opportunities Inc. (CSO Inc.) has named Gale Zalar Community Action director. Central Susquehanna Opportunities Inc. is a regional, private non-profit, community-based, charitable organization that is dedicated to helping people make positive changes in their lives.
CSO Inc. is the premier workforce development agency providing workforce development services as a contractor for the Central Region Workforce Investment Board in Clinton, Lycoming, Union, Snyder, Northumberland, Montour and Columbia Counties.
Additionally, CSO has been designated as the Community Action Agency for Montour, Northumberland and Columbia counties in accordance with requirements of the federal Community Service Block Grant Act (CSBG). Under the requirements of the CSBG, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is responsible for designating the local Community Action Agencies. Currently CSO, Inc. employs over 100 dedicated professionals.
As Community Action director, Zalar will oversee all aspects of the Community Action Agency, its programs, and services. CSO provides Community Action initiatives and development services to adults and youth at three sites, one in Shamokin, Bloomsburg and Danville. In the past year, CSO Inc. has provided services to 2,536 individuals in need. CSO Inc. assists individuals with all facets of meeting their basic needs, becoming better prepared for work, improving their personal skills, finding training opportunities and moving towards successful self-sufficiency.
Zalar has over 25 years experience in workforce and youth programs. She has been employed with CSO since its inception in 2001 and was previously employed by Northumberland Montour Training Services and Northumberland County JTPA. She has most recently served as supervisor for the Central Region youth program and the CSO, Inc. community action program.

Central Susquehanna Opportunities Inc. is a regional, private non-profit, community-based, charitable organization that is dedicated to helping people make positive changes in their lives. CSO delivers Workforce Development Services in the Central Region Workforce Investment Area and provides comprehensive Community Action initiatives to improve local families and communities. CSO strives to address poverty at the local level and move individuals and families to self-sufficiency.

Under her leadership, the Central Region EARN program has been recognized as one of the top programs in Pennsylvania.
Bair resides in Mifflinburg with her husband, Ken, daughter, Ainsley, and son, Jake.

NEWARK, OHIO — The Longaberger Company recently recognized Natalie Cresitello of Berkeley Heights, NJ, (formally Natalie Fadrowski of Mount Carmel) as a National Sales Achiever and Level 3 National Sponsoring Award Winner at its annual convention, the Bee, held in Columbus, Ohio.
Cresitello has been an Independent Longaberger Home Consultant since 2002, and promoted to branch leader in 2006. The awards recognize Cresitello for success in both reaching personal sales goals and recruiting and developing other Longaberger Home Consultants on her team.
