CSIU retirees honored at board meeting

MONTANDON — Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) full-time staff members who retired during the past year were honored at the September meeting of the CSIU Board of Directors.

MONTANDON — Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) full-time staff members who retired during the past year were honored at the September meeting of the CSIU Board of Directors.

Retirees attending the meeting:

• Nancy Bogart, of Benton, corrections education teacher at North Central Secure Treatment Unit. She began work at the CSIU in 1999.

• Vicki Comstock, of Berwick, corrections education teacher at North Central Secure Treatment Unit, 1982.

• Sandra Foreman, of Bloomsburg, special education teacher for hearing support, 1983.

• Patti Graboski, of Northumberland, special projects technical specialist, 1979.

• Gail Hampe, of Muncy, student applications and telephone support coordinator, 1973.

• Cheryl Robuck, of Northumberland, speech therapist, 1974.

• Adrienne Roth, of Danville, senior/pediatric occupational therapist, 1982.

• Charlotte Silvette, of Berwick, interpreter aide, 1979.

• Joy Wynn, of Northumberland, senior receptionist, 1988.

Tanya Dieffenderfer, special projects manager in the executive director’s office, recounted the individual accomplishments of each of the retirees who attended.

Retirees present at the meeting:

• Jacqueline Ewing, of Lewisburg, early intervention speech therapist, who began at the CSIU in 1996.

• Diane Henry, of Danville, Head Start family and health coordinator, 1984.

• Judy Herald, of Watsontown, business support services assistant, 1987.

• Shirley Kelchner, of Milton, Head Start regional team supervisor, 1997.

• Linda McGettigan, of Bloomsburg, special education teacher for multi-disabilities support, 1974.

• Aimee Schultz, social worker, 2003.

• Maggie Stief, of Mount Carmel, Pregnant and Parenting Teens/Elect program coordinator, 1992.

Dr. Robert G. Witten, CSIU executive director, expressed gratitude to all retirees for their service to the organization. The 16 retirees contributed more than 300 years of collective service to the CSIU.

Shelly Ritter, human resources and employee relations manager, introduced staff members who received special achievement awards at the CSIU’s Professional Leadership Day in August.

Award recipients included:

• Patrick F. Toole Kudos Award — Karen Shanoski, of West Norriton Township, a former resident of Bloomsburg. Shanoski is a family/school/community project manager at the Center for Schools and Communities in Camp Hill. The Kudos Award, named in honor of the CSIU’s first executive director, recognizes a staff member for achievement, dedication and service.

• Ambassador Award — Sharon Houseknecht, of Lewisburg, Head Start services assistant. The award is presented to a staff member who exemplifies a commitment to providing effective customer service and maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external customers.

• Safety Award — Philip Miccio, of Bloomsburg, student transportation supervisor, and LeeAnn Follmer, of Watsontown, Work Foundations and operations manager. The award recognizes staff members who go above and beyond normal practices to promote safety in the workplace.
