Homes burglarized
DALMATIA — State police at Stonington are investigating two burglaries that occurred Thursday at homes in the Dalmatia area.
Police reported someone gained entry into the home of Paul Glace, 65, of 2784 Route 147, Dalmatia, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. and stole jewelry and money.
Police said a burglar also broke into the residence of Barbara Shissler, 74, of 8054 Route 147, Dalmatia, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is urged to call state police at 286-5601.
Two injured in crash
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP — Crystal James, 32, of Lewisburg, and a 17-year-old male suffered minor injuries Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 61 and Lily Road, police reported.
State police at Stonington reported the juvenile was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler at 6:20 a.m. when he attempted to turn left from Lily Road onto Route 61 and pulled into the path of a 2003 Ford Explorer driven north on Route 61 by James, resulting in a collision.
Police said the left front of James’ vehicle struck the left side of the juvenile’s Jeep Wrangler.
After impact, the Jeep Wrangler spun off the west side of Route 61 before coming to rest facing east. The Ford Explorer continued traveling north on Route 61 before coming to rest facing north along the east shoulder.
Both vehicles sustained severe damage. The drivers were wearing seat belts.
Juvenile injured
LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP — A 16-year-old male from Sunbury suffered a minor injury Thursday night in a one-vehicle accident along Ridge Road near township Route 376, police said.
State police at Stonington reported the teen was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer west at 6:45 p.m. when a deer ran onto the road and into his path.
Police said the juvenile lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to avoid hitting the deer, causing his Ford Explorer to travel off the road and down an embankment before flipping onto its roof.
The teen was wearing a seat belt.
Phone scams
SHAMOKIN — Police here warned citizens of telephone scams being conducted in the area.
Police have received complaints of citizens receiving phone calls informing them that they won a large sum of money and new vehicles. The callers request the citizens to send them money before their winnings can be mailed to them.
Theft charges
MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman Matt Dillman charged two 13-year-old borough females with two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count each of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief relating to an Aug. 31 incident.
Police reported the girls are accused of stealing three pair of jeans and a hooded sweatshirt from a 14-year-old female.
Retail theft
MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman David Donkochik cited Matthew R. Oshman, 19, of 136 S. Walnut St., Mount Carmel, and David J. Hower, 19, of 222 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, for retail theft involving a Sept. 29 incident at Turkey Hill Minit Market, Fifth and Market streets.
