Police find car reportedly linked to escape case

The tan-colored Ford Escort that juvenile cadet Kyle Ball allegedly stole from Kulpmont early Friday morning was reportedly found Saturday afternoon, accordin to Kulpmont Borough Police.
Ball, 17, is accused of attacking an employee at Northwestern Academy with a flashlight and escaping from the facility Friday morning.
Kulpmont police would not release further information about the vehicle, reportedly found by a police officer over a scanner system Saturday afternoon. Police also called for the car to be towed.
It is unknown whether Ball had been found as of Saturday evening. A police officer from Pocono Lake, Ball’s hometown, reported they were told to be on the lookout for the juvenile on Friday. The officer said he hadn’t heard anything more about the case as of Saturday evening.
According to a press release, Euguene McGovern, an employee at Northwestern Academy, allowed Ball out of his Black Diamond Mine Dormitory to use the bathroom facility.
Ball allegedly grabbed McGovern’s metal flashlight and repeatedly struck him until he gave up his keys. Once he secured the keys, Ball locked McGovern in his own dormitory room, then fled the premises. He was believed to have stolen a tan Ford Escort from the borough of Kulpmont, police reported.
Police believed Ball mayhave been going to his hometown of Pocono Lake.
McGovern suffered a concussion and a laceration to his head which required several staples, the press release stated. Due to the nature and seriousness of the charges, Ball will be charged as an adult.
The juvenile has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, escape, simple assault, unlawful detention and theft.
Ball is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
