High School SportsCOAL TOWNSHIP — Ranotta Ahrensfield scored three goals and Amanda Kuzo added another as Mount Carmel Area’s girls soccer team qualified for the District 4 playoffs with a 4-0 win over Lourdes Regional Monday at Lourdes.
The Red Tornadoes improved to 9-4 overall.
“Defensively, we tried to cut down on their passing lanes but Ahrensfield was relentless and has a terrific shot,” said Lourdes coach Frank Kalejta.
Minersville 6, Line Mountain 0
MINERSVILLE — Kelsey Weachock scored three goals for Minersville as the Miners beat Line Mountain in the Schuylkill League.

MOUNT CARMEL — Luke Klingler and Jared Shannon scored five goals between them as Bloomsburg defeated host Mount Carmel in Heartland Conference action.
Loyalsock 7, Shamokin 0
SHAMOKIN — Jon Havens scored two goals in the first 20 minutes of the game for Loyalsock and the rest of the Lancers added three more in the first half to beat Shamokin in Heartland Conference play.

FOUNTAIN SPRING — Megan Temple had 22 assists and 15 digs, and Megan Schilling seven kills and 13 digs as North Schuylkill (4-5) beat the Hurricanes, 21-25, 26-24, 25-15, 23-25, 16-14.
Mimi Teter had 24 digs for the Spartans.
For Schuylkill Haven, Kathryn Donnelly had 21 assists and 16 points, and
Corene Parrish had 10 service points and 12 digs.
North Schuylkill JVs won, 2-0.
Lourdes 3, Shamokin 1
COAL TOWNSHIP — Lourdes gave up the first game, 25-20, but came back 25-22, 25-15, 27-25 to beat the Indians.
Jen Kalinowski and Veronica Yoder had 13 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Red Raiders. Miranda Moyer had 27 assists and Amie Snyder had 20 service points.
Lourdes improved to 5-6, and Shamokin dropped to 4-6.
