Monahan wins Knoebel 5K
ELYSBURG — Chris Monahan, Mount Carmel, won the 15th annual Knoebel Lumber 5K Race during the Covered Bridge Festival at Knoebels Grove.
Monahan won the race in 17 minutes, 40 seconds, with Brandon Talisesky, Elysburg, second (18:02) and Dan Kirk, Danville, third (18:08).
Esther Bashore, Coal Township, won the women’s title in 21:11. Crissy Petro, Catawissa, was second (22:12) and Rebecca Hayes, Lancaster, third (22:31).
A total of 140 participants ran, and raised a total of $1,352 for the Ralpho Township Public Library.
