Police Blotter: Pump catches fire

Pump catches fire

HICKORY CORNERS — The Hickory Corners and Community Fire Company was dispatched down the hill from its station at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to the residence of Gilbert Spotts, where a pool pump had caught fire due to an electrical shortage.

Fire Chief Doug Wetzel said 15 firefighters responded, but water that burst from the pump and hoses leading to the pool had already put out the fire.

The scene was cleared by midnight, Wetzel said.

Narcotics found

SELINSGROVE — State Police at Stonington reported someone dropped a bag containing an undisclosed amount of narcotic along State School Road in Penn Township, Snyder County.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 374-8145.
