Stacie R. Gogets Blanks
Stacie R. Gogets Blanks, 37, of Rock Road, Pine Grove, died Thursday, June 27, in Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Pottsville, June 17, 1971, she was a daughter of Harvey Gogets, Schuylkill Haven, and Donna Aungst Gogets, Pine Grove.
Stacie was a 1989 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School and had been a Gulf War veteran, having served with the 18th Airborne Corp. with the Army. She attended the Bethel Dunkard Brethren Church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Mae Wolfe Aungst, Pine Grove; two daughters, Kayla, age 17, and Kenya, age 14; a son, Ty, age 11; and a daughter of her heart, Victoria, age 9, all of Pine Grove; a brother, Kevin Gogets, Pine Grove; aunts and uncles; and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, in Bethel Dunkard Brethren Church, 5450 4 Pt. Road, Bethel, with her uncles, Brother David Aungst, Brother Dale Aungst and Brother Jeff Aungst officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Dunkard Brethren Cemetery, Bethel.
The family would prefer donations be given to the trust fund for Stacie Gogets Blank's Children, c/o Sovereign Bank, 29 E. Pottsville St., Pine Grove, PA 17963, in her memory.


Mary G. Bordner
Mary G. Bordner, 82, of 743 Chestnut Street, Hegins, formerly of Pillow, died Thursday, June 26, at the home of her daughter, Kathy Huntsinger, with whom she resided for the past three years.
She was born in Red Cross on April 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Edwin and Ida Rebuck Herb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bordner on June 3, 1980 and a companion, Dallas Miller on January 3, 2001.
She retired in 1991 from the Dalmatia Dress and Blouse Factory, Herndon.
She was educated in the Red Cross schools and was of the Protestant faith.
She was a life member of the Gratz VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Harold Bordner of Klingerstown and Kenneth Bordner of Tower City; five daughters, Marlene Johns, Herndon; Virginia Rebuck, Millersburg; Kathy Huntsinger, Hegins; Shirley Morgan, Sacramento and Lorie Mauser, Halifax; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Alice Wertz and June Shade, both of Sacramento, Hilda Klinger, Gratz, Laura Knorr and Minerva Starr, both of Valley View and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by eight children: Paul Jr., Cindy, Jerry, Steve, Roger, Johnny, Ruby and Dennis Bordner; three sisters, Verna Spade, Carlene Faber, and Violet Deibert, and two brothers, Preston and Lee Herb.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Burial was in Northumberland Memorial Park at Stonington.


Margaret I. Kessler
Margaret Irene Kessler, 89, of Gratz, died June 26, at The Manor at Susquehanna Village.
Margaret was born in Klingerstown RD, on April 27, 1919, the daughter of the late Herman and Jennie (Mattern) Erdman.
She was the wife of Mark W. Kessler of Gratz.
She was a graduate of the Pine Park High School, Leck Kill; was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz and worked as a waitress at Reed's Inn, Gratz.
Surviving are her husband, Mark Kessler of Gratz; three daughters, Violet Hartman of Lykens Twp, Virginia Reed of Gratz, and Debra Herley of Valley View; two sons, Mark Kessler, Jr. of Brookville, and Ricci Kessler of Harrisburg; three sisters, Violet Hoffman of Dornsife, Daisey Drumheller of Klingerstown, and Gerty Stine of Sun Lake, AZ; two brothers, Lester Erdman of Muncy and Marlin Erdman of Halifax. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by on great-grandson, Greg Hartman, and by two brothers, Ernest and Paul Erdman, and two sisters, Ruth Coleman and Arlene Brodner.
Religious services were held Monday, June 30, at Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz, with Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Interment was in Gratz Union Cemetery.

Jimmy E. Shade
Jimmy E. Shade, 73, of 214 W Maple Street, Valley View, died Wednesday, June 25, at his residence.
He was born on October 8, 1934 a son of the late Lawrence and Lena (Morgan) Shade.
He was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
He was a self employed coal miner and had also been employed as a miner, mine superintendent, and truck driver for Kocher Coal Co., Tower City.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
He served as Valley View Legion Baseball Manager from 1967 to 1985. He was inducted into the Schuylkill County Chapter of the Pennsylvania State Sports Hall of Fame as a player and manager. He was also inducted into the American Legion Sports Hall of Fame as a manager for the Valley View Legion Team. He was a member of the Valley View Fire Company; he was the oldest active member of the Lykens Valley Hunting Camp of Driftwood, Cameron County.
He was preceded in death by three brothers Mark, William, and Gary Shade.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor M. (Michael) Shade, to whom he was married for 54 years.
He is also survived by a son, Randy L Shade of Carlisle; a grandson, Ryan L Shade of Carlisle; a brother, Alvin Shade of Washington, Pa.; and three sisters, Marie Beard of Selinsgrove, Martha Herb of Hegins, and Phyllis Siminitus of West Terrace.
Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Saturday, June 28, with Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. Burial was made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.

Elsie E. Heinbach
Elsie E. Heinbach, 92, of Pine Grove, died Friday, June 27, in Waterbridge at Pine Grove.
Born in Rock, Nov. 1, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Carrie Heinbach Kramer.
She had been a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pine Grove.
Elsie had been a table work inspector at the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing in Pine Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Warren U. Heinbach, on Oct. 20, 2007; two children, Linda Heinbach and David Heinbach; four brothers, Carl Kramer, Merritt Kramer, Irvin Kramer and Phaon Kramer.
Surviving are a sister, Pearl Lord, Orwigsburg; a brother, Paul Kramer, Schuylkill Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 1, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Lloyd Yeager officiating. Interment was in Manbeck's Cemetery, Wild Cherry Road, Schuylkill Haven.
The family would prefer donations by given to St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, c/o Joan Lehman, 14 Maple St., Pine Grove, PA 17963, in her memory.


E. Russell Williams
E. Russell Williams, 81, of Broad Street, Williamstown, died Friday, June 27, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lincoln, June 2, 1927, he was a son of the late Joseph Williams and Carrie Laing Williams Woll.
He was a World War II Navy veteran. Russ retired as a machinist from Fort Indiantown Gap. He also retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard with more than 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church, a life member of Williamstown American Legion 239 and a former member of the Tower City Loyal Order of Moose.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Shuttlesworth Williams, on April 15, 2006.
Surviving are two brothers, Clarence "Tom" Williams, Wiconisco, and James Williams, Illinois; a sister, Pearl Reinoehl, Tremont; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Dr. Steven Atanasoff officiating. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the chapel. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Col. Clair B. Buggy
Col. Clair B. Buggy, 79, retired from the Pa. Army National Guard, died Monday, June 23, at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Middlesex Township.
A Korean War veteran, he was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, American Legion Post 239 and VFW Post 6497, both of Williamstown.
He was born April 8, 1929, in Williamstown to the late John and Stella Updegrave Buggy.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Czarnecki, and two brothers, Eugene and John.
Suviving are his wife, Ruth I. Rhoads Buggy; a daughter, Beth A. Artz, Camp Hill; a son, David R. Buggy, New Cumberland; a brother, James Buggy, Tower City; and a grandson, Hunter R. Artz.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today at his church. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Bruce F. Schneck
Bruce F. Schneck, 85, of Church Street, Muir, died Thursday, June 26, at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation.
Born in Pine Grove Township, Sept. 14, 1922, he was a son of the late Oscar and Jennie Maurer Schneck.
Bruce retired as an Aircraft Examiner with New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton, Pine Grove American Legion, and the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Herb Schneck; a brother; and a sister.
Surviving are two sons, Marcus H. Schneck, Hamburg, and Bruce H. Schneck, Tower City; four grandchildren, Dale Schneck, Angela Shuey, Charlene Bettinger, Casey Schneck; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 1, from Fairview Cemetery, Muir.
