ELYSBURG — The third annual Duck Drop, a fundriser for the Shamokin chapter of the Salvation Army, was held Saturday morning at the Giant Flume at Knoebels Amusement Resort. A large number of spectators were on hand.

There were three races involving a total of more than 300 plastic yellow ducks, which were sent down the wild and wet water ride. “Owners” of the first 10 ducks to cross the finish line in each race won a prize, including gift cards to many local retailers. The grand prize was a $200 vacation package to Knoebels.

The event raised more than $3,000 for the Salvation Army to continue its charity work in the Shamokin area.
