SUNBURY — A Ralpho Township teen charged with raping a girl multiple times over the past four years in the township was adjudicated delinquent (found guilty) on one felony count of incest Tuesday afternoon by Northumberland County Judge Paige Rosini.
The teen turned 18 today, but was 17 when the charges were filed Thursday by Ralpho Township Cpl. Bryon Chowka. An additional count of incest and felonies of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse (two counts), sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault (two counts) were withdrawn.
The charges were filed in connection with incidents that occurred between Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 5, 2016.
Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz didn’t identify the defendant in order to protect the identity of the victim, who was 12-years-old when the offenses started.
The defendant, who was represented by special conflicts counsel Amy Stoak, was returned to Central Counties Youth Center in Bellefonte. He was ordered by Rosini to undergo a sex offender evaluation Jan. 17 at Diversified Treatment Alternatives in Lewisburg.
Northumberland County Assistant District Attorney William Cole represented the commonwealth at the adjudication hearing.
