Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN — Christine E. Hendricks, 21, of 239 W. Pine St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of drug paraphernalia involving an incident shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday at her residence.

Police reported Hendricks was found in possession of a colored smoking pipe with marijuana residue and a straw containing a white powder residue.

Access device fraud

SHAMOKIN — Edward Hancock III, 22, of 5 W. Commerce St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman William Zalinski with access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Hancock allegedly stole a bank card from his father, Edward Hancock Jr., and used the card to make purchases at CVS Pharmacy in Shamokin, Walmart Supercenter in Coal Township, Turkey Hill Minit Market in Kulpmont, Game Stop in Coal Township, a Sunoco gas station and The iTunes Store. He also is accused of making several withdrawals from FNB Bank, police said.

The purchases and withdrawals totaled $1,149.19.

Police said the offenses occurred between Dec. 26 and Jan. 31.

Multiple charges

SHAMOKIN — Eric M. Kowalchick, 33, of 218 N. Railroad St., Apt. 2, Catawissa, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, speeding and failing to wear a seat belt involving an incident at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on Mount Carmel Street near Pool World.

Police reported Kowalchick was observed driving a green Explorer at 56 miles per hour in a posted 25 mph zone on Mount Carmel Street before pulling over off Route 61 near McDonald’s, where police found a plastic straw with white residue in the vehicle.

Police reported Kowalchick’s driving privilege was suspended and he was wanted in Columbia and Montour counties.


SHAMOKIN — Cpl. Jarrod Scandle has charged Chad M. Neiman, 31, of 404 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 2, Shamokin, with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and driving under suspension relating to an incident at 2:15 a.m. April 23 in the 400 block of North Shamokin Street.

Police said Neiman, who was found asleep in a car that had its engine running, had amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzoylecgonine, morphine-free and 6-monoacetylmorphine-free in his blood system.

Shamokin man injured

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP — Joseph W. Dannhiemer, 47, of Shamokin, suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night on Plum Creek Road near Twin Hill Road in this Northumberland County township.

State police at Stonington reported Dannhiemer was driving a 2006 Suzuki Boulevard east at 7:50 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The motorcycle then exited the road and came to rest on the right berm.

Police said Dannhiemer, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by Americus Ambulance, of Sunbury, to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was listed in serious condition Thursday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Dannhiemer was cited by Trooper Brian Ronk with failing to drive in a single lane.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP — Justin Wyland, 31, of 919 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, reported to police that an unknown person smashed the back window on his 2009 Kia Ex during the morning hours on Thursday. The vehicle had been parked in front of his residence at the time. Damage estimate was unknown.

Vehicle hits deer

ANTHONY TOWNSHIP — State Police in Milton reported an accident in which Bryan K. Szuler, of Elysburg, struck a deer with his vehicle while traveling north on Route 54 on May 13. After impact, the vehicle traveled approximately 75 yards north and came to a final rest on the western berm facing north. No injuries were reported for Szuler or his three passengers.
