Gun incident

COAL TOWNSHIP — Detective Jeffrey Brennan filed misdemeanor charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct against Chelsea Leigh Troutman, 23, of 1026 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, in connection to a 7:50 p.m. July 1 incident at 1022 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township.

Brennan said a dispute broke out among multiple people and Junior Negron, who lived at the home, kicked Troutman’s vehicle. Troutman then emerged from the vehicle pointing a handgun at Negron, Brennan said.

Troutman told police she dropped the gun out of her purse and was picking it up, the criminal complaint says.

Troutman was arraigned at 10 a.m. Thursday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and released on $5,000 bail.

SHAMOKIN — Brian W. Brennan, 20, of 225 Carbon St., Minersville, is charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of marijuana and driving under the influence of enough drugs to render him incapable of driving and a citation of careless driving in connection to a 7:35 p.m. June 23 crash in the parking lot of Turkey Hill on Second Street, Shamokin.

Weaver said Brennan backed his BMW into the side of another vehicle that was also backing up. He showed signs of drug use and admitted to police he had smoked marijuana just before the accident, Weaver said. A blood test showed marijuana in Brennan’s blood stream, Weaver said.
