New CEO for Sunbury Community Hospital

SUNBURY - Sunbury Community Hospital announced in May that Jeff Hunt has been appointed chief executive officer and began his new position on June 1.

"I am grateful to become a part of Sunbury Community Hospital and look forward to the opportunity to help guide Sunbury's program development and service growth," said Hunt. "I look forward to working with the employees and physicians, as well as becoming an integral part of the Sunbury community."

Hunt comes to Sunbury after serving for the past three years in a business development role for Community Health Systems-affiliated hospitals in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Prior to joining Community Health Systems, Hunt worked in administrative, management and operational roles for radiology and rehabilitation practices in Pennsylvania and Florida. He has a proven track record of business development, relationship building and operational management.

"Jeff is an experienced leader who has a good understanding of the issues that impact health care in the region," said John Carpenter, chairman of the board of trustees. "He has a good balance of professional expertise and interpersonal skill that we view as essential elements to the successful delivery of services in our community."

Hunt earned a Bachelor of Science from Ithaca College in New York and a Masters of Science and Education from the University of Miami in Florida. He and his wife, Sara, have an 11-year old daughter and an 8-year old son.

Sunbury Community Hospital and Outpatient Center is an acute care facility serving Sunbury, Selinsgrove, Northumberland and the surrounding communities. With a strong emphasis on community, the hospital is committed to the health and well-being of those in the region.
