PPL employees help Little Leaguers

share thisLittle League ballplayers in Northumberland County can better keep their eyes on the ball, thanks to the volunteer efforts of three PPL Electric Utilities employees from the Marion Heights Service Center.
Joe Cataldo, Tom Wengrenovich and Vic Yarsky recently gave their time to upgrade outdoor lighting at fields used by the Trevorton Little League. The volunteers replaced fuse boxes and light bulbs and realigned lights for better field coverage.
The improvements are part of an ongoing effort by the league to make playing fields safer and more attractive. League officials thanked PPL Electric Utilities and the three employees for their help.
"Helping us update our lights, and keeping them safe and in working condition, has helped us to achieve both of our goals of safety and beauty," league official Justine Breinich wrote in an e-mail. "It is greatly appreciated that your company cares enough to help communities."
PPL and its employees have a long history of donating their time, equipment and expertise to help youth sports leagues and other community groups. Requests can be made through regional community relations directors.
