Intimidation

MOUNT CARMEL - Michael J. Stokes, 45, of 300 W. Third St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Daniel Politza with intimidation of witnesses, retaliation against witnesses and harassment relating to an incident that occurred on Sept. 6 at Boyer's Food Market. Police said Stokes threatened Adam Fantini, who is a witness in a criminal case against Stokes. The charges were filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.

Bad checks

MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Township Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush charged Michael F. Neidlinger, 32, of 62 Black Diamond Road, Branchdale, with writing a bad check to Patterson Block in the amount of $1,447.11. The charge was filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.

Various charges

KULPMONT - Damien M. Slovick, 22, of 149 E. Saylor St., Atlas, was charged by Kulpmont Borough Chief of Police Richard Wilson III with simple possession of a controlled substance, driving while under suspension and operating an ATV on a street not posted for ATV on July 2 on 12th Street.

Criminal mischief

RUSH TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported that someone threw a large pumpkin at a mailbox owned by Blair Carbaugh, of Moser Road, Danville, sometime overnight on Thursday. The estimated damage was $25.

Vehicle crash

DELANO TOWNSHIP - Marissa Herb, of Coal Township, escaped injury after hitting a deer with her 1998 Plymouth Neon, while traveling north on Interstate 81 at 11:40 p.m. Friday, state police at Frackville said.
