Mostly Mutts shelter in need of financial support

To the editor: Mostly Mutts is a no-kill dog shelter located near Sunbury. We have approximately 100 dogs at our shelter. We rely on donations and fundraising events to raise money to help pay for all necessary costs to care for the dogs.

We keep receiving more and more calls from dog owners who can't keep their pets because of the costs of care and the declining economy. Also, the local SPCA in Danville only accepts highly adoptable animals, so there are more strays that need attention.

We are full to capacity, with no more room for additions. The costs involved to take care of the dogs at our shelter have grown tremendously (including food, medicine, veterinary care, heat and air conditioning).

Any donations to help defray these costs would be greatly appreciated. We thank the community and area businesses for their continued support.

Those wanting to make a donation to help the shelter can make checks payable to Mostly mutts and mail to: Mostly Mutts, c/o Henry Gross, P.O. Box 498, Millville 17846.

4-H goes very often. Im in 4-H and I love going helping the dogs. Some were abused and were taken in to care. Goldie was in a puppy mill and hated humans, but he came to me since he knows me as a friend. I think more people should help, and no, not donating money, but caring and adopting dogs. Dont buy a dog, adopt them, and out of millions this is just one place to adopt animals. Contact Mostley Mutts, or your local 4-H group for more info. Thanks!
