The Bucknell University Bison ice hockey team will host the Susquehanna University River Hawks in a “Pink at the Rink” game on October 29. The puck will drop at 4 p.m. at the Sunbury Youth and Community Ice Hockey Rink located at 249 Memorial Drive in Sunbury. Admission will be by donation. In addition to the game, there will be a Basket/Gift Card Auction, in honor and in memory ribbons and t-shirt sale. All proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) was formed in 1993 by a dedicated, active and effective group of breast cancer survivors who had one common mission: to find a cure for breast cancer. Every program, event and campaign is carried out with that goal in mind. Today, they are the source of action and information for Pennsylvania women with breast cancer and their families.
The PBCC is a statewide organization based in Lebanon with a board of directors, a staff of eight and a network of volunteers across the state. The PBCC exists to help the 12,000 women and men in Pennsylvania who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, to support the families of the 2,200 women and men who will lose that battle and to serve as a resource for the hundreds of thousands more women and men currently living with the disease.
They accomplish this through statewide educational programming, legislative advocacy and breast cancer research grants.
