UPDATE: Woman’s death ruled accident

SNYDERTOWN — The coroner’s office said the woman found dead along Snydertown Road Wednesday evening was a 21-year-old Shenandoah woman and he has ruled her death an accident.

James Kelley announced this afternoon that Kaylee V. Pukiewicz died  from blunt force trauma to the head. An autopsy was conducted this morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.

Kelley had been waiting for Pukiewicz to be identified by next of kin.

Pukiewicz was pronounced dead by Kelley Wednesday evening at the site in Snydertown. There was a crashed vehicle at the scene, but the coroner’s office had not yet confirmed if she was an accident victim.

State police early Thursday issued a press release about the same incident, labeling it a “fatal collision.” It says a gray Mitsubishi Montero Sport traveled off the north side of Snydertown Road about 5:40 p.m. and rolled multiple times, causing extensive damage to the vehicle, which came to rest on its roof in a wooded area.

Authorities were back at the scene during the day Thursday.
