TURBOTVILLE — A Lycoming County man died and another man was in critical condition Friday following a two-vehicle collision on Route 54 near Beaver Run Road east of here in Lewis Township Friday morning.

State police at Milton reported Frederick W. Miller, 82, of Trout Run, sustained fatal injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

Northumberland County Coroner James F. Kelley said the cause of death was blunt force trauma. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police said Miller was driving west at 6:54 a.m. when his 2016 Ford Fusion crossed the center line and struck the front driver’s side of a 2007 Dodge Caravan traveling east and operated by Daniel P. Conrad, 28, of Muncy. Conrad also was wearing a seat belt.

Miller’s vehicle came to a rest facing north on the north side of the road and Conrad’s stopped facing west on the south side of the road.

A nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, said Conrad was in critical condition Friday afternoon.

Assisting were Warrior Run Area Fire Department and Montgomery Fire Department.
