Czeponis’ 23 points lead Lourdes to key league win

COAL TOWNSHIP — Five players scored in double figures, led by Larry Czeponis’ 23 points, to lead Lourdes Regional to 79-58 Schuylkill League Division II-III crossover win over Panther Valley in boys basketball Friday.

Czeponis made 10 of 13 shots from the floor, and added nine rebounds and five assists. C.J. Reichard and Ty Klembara each scored 16 points, Thomas Schultz 14 and Adam Sandri 10. Klembara had seven assists and Reichard five.

Lourdes improved to 8-3 overall, 5-0 in Division II, and the Panthers dropped to 7-4, 4-1 Division III.

Tristen Blasko scored 26 points for Panther Valley, and Rene Figueroa 15.

MIFFLINTOWN — Ben Lauver scored 20 points and Bryson Clark 13 to lead Juniata to a Tri-Valley League win over Line Mountain.

Breven Derk paced the Eagles with 12 points.

Line Mountain dropped to 1-10 overall and 1-5 in the TVL East. Juniata is 7-4, 4-1 TVL West.

Elijah Dobson 17 and Damian Ares 15 as Southern Columbia won its fourth straight game in a Heartland Athletic Conference Division III game.

Tobias Walden had 12 points for the Tigers (5-5, 3-2). Logan Klinger had 14 points to lead the Panthers (6-5, 2-3).

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Five players scored in double figures, led by Tom Reisinger’s 18 points, to lead the Red Tornadoes (9-1, 5-0) to a Heartland Athletic Conference Division III win over the Mounties (3-9, 0-5).

Anthony Moser and Donovan James each scored 12 points, and Mike Balichik and Matthew Ziv each had 10 for Mount Carmel, and John Ayres chipped in with nine.

Flick paced South Williamsport with 15 points.

Mount Carmel hosts North Schuylkill in a non-league game today at 1 p.m.
