Kulpmont ‘Name the deer’ contest
KULPMONT — Some experienced hunters have a difficult time spotting a deer this time of year, but visitors to Borough Park at 11th and Chestnut streets can see the animals up close. Each year, Kulpmont Sportsman’s Association (KSA) place two young fallow deer in a pen at the park to attract young and old as an educational opportunity or for just the chance to see PA wildlife in person. In conjunction with KSA, Kulpmont100 will sponsor a free “Name the deer” contest for kids 12 and under to begin immediately. Entrants may submit any publishable name at the Kulpmont branch of BB&T Bank from now until Thursday, Dec. 21. A random drawing of entries will determine the names of the deer and two $25 prize winners. The winning contestants will be announced and may have their picture taken with the deer on Friday, Dec. 22.
