Meth lab on state hospital grounds
DANVILLE — State police at Milton are investigating the discovery of an alleged methamphetamine lab found along a grass walking trail on the property of Danville State Hospital, 200 State Hospital Drive, Mahoning Township.
The discovery was reported at noon Aug. 31.
A clandestine lab response team was activated and the suspected items were properly disposed of, police said. No suspects have been identified at this time.
COAL TOWNSHIP — Daniel C. Dietz, 39, of 1741 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to an Aug. 15 incident at his home.
Police reported Dietz possessed acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitarate without a prescription and also possessed a dry syringe, a syringe containing a clear substance, a spoon with a small piece of cotton on it and a small baggie.
COAL TOWNSHIP — Jonathan S. Rebuck, 34, of 76 Main St., Klingerstown, was charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police said Rebuck was found passed out in a vehicle in the drive-thru at McDonald’s on Route 61 at 1:10 a.m. July 14.
Police said Rebuck had a blood-alcohol content of .209 percent.
SHAMOKIN — Timothy T. Tyler, 24, of 17 E. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Brandon Cohick with providing police with false identification, driving under suspension and a taillight violation involving an incident at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot at Turkey Hill Minit Market on Lincoln Street.
Police said Tyler provided a false name and date of birth.
SHAMOKIN DAM — Four people, including two infants, were injured in a two-vehicle accident Sept. 1 accident on Route 61 on the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
State police at Selinsgrove reported the 9:19 a.m. crash occurred 180 feet west of Shamokin Dam.
Police said Sarah E. Hornberger, 34, of Middleburg, was driving a 2001 Honda CR-V east on the bridge when her vehicle veered off the road to the right and struck a concrete bridge rail. After impact with the rail, police said the CR-V traveled back onto the road and ran over the center median reflector strips before going into the oncoming lane and crashing head-on into a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis operated by Annette Witcoskie, 57, of Shamokin.
Police said Hornberger suffered injuries of unknown severity, while two female infants from Middleburg in her sport utility vehicle suffered minor injuries. Witkoskie also suffered minor injuries, police said.
