Two-vehicle accident

BURNSIDE — Coal Township police said a two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday when William Lawrence Jr., 47, was traveling through the Burnside area when he attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot and was struck from behind by Daniel Smink, 54, of Coal Township.

Lawrence’s Ford Escape sustained moderate damage to the front drivers side while Smink’s vehicle sustained heavy damage to the passenger front side wheel area, police said. Neither driver was injured nor was a passenger in Lawrence’s vehicle, Sandra Persing, 46, of Burnside, police said.


RINGTOWN — State police in Frackville are looking for information on a burglary at 119 W. Main St., Ringtown, that occurred between 7:15 p.m. Monday and 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said one or more burglars forced open the rear door of John Wasilewski’s detached garage and took a red 2002 Kawasaki 650 Prairie ATV. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 570-874-5300.

Probation violation

KULPMONT — Ashley Snyder, 28, of Kulpmont, was charged with furnishing drug-free urine after it was found in her possession while being taken into custody at Snyder County Prison. A urinalysis given by her probation officer prior to that had resulted in being drug-free.
