Credit cards stolen
KULPMONT — Burton R. Farr, 47, of Harrisburg, has been charged by Chief of Police Patrick McAndrew with a felony of forgery and misdemeanors of unlawful device, theft from a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property related to thefts in 2014.
According to a criminal complaint, Farr is accused of stealing a Lowe’s credit card and Miller’s Gas and Oil card from a Fire Dex truck parked in the 500 block of Maple Street on June 26, 2014, and July 5, 2014. The cards belonged to Alfred Bailey, owner of Fire Dex.
Police said Farr allegedly used the Lowe’s card to purchase $402.27, $381.59 and $340.36 worth of power tools at the Lowe’s store near Selinsgrove on June 27, June 28 and July 5, 2014, respectively.
ATLAS — Patrolman David Tomtishen has charged two Kulpmont residents related to an April 4 traffic stop.
A vehicle driven by Joshua Alexander Weaver, 20, of 248 Chestnut St., was pulled over for speeding on West Avenue. Tomtishen reported Weaver appeared to be under the influence, and was told he took his prescribed Suboxone.
Weaver agreed to but did not successfully complete field sobriety tests, according to Tomtishen. He submitted to a blood draw.
His passenger, Kayla Marie Leader, 20, of 1222 Scott St., was asked to leave the vehicle and was given a ride home by Weaver’s father.
Tomtishen reported locating a pen body with a white powdery substance in a multi-colored hand purse in the vehicle, which also contained an insurance card with Leader’s name. He located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a hand purse under the front passenger seat, he said. He found a black Panther Stun Gun in the pocket of the front passenger door.
Weaver was charged with prohibited offensive weapons, two counts of DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. Leader was charged with prohibited offensive weapons, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman David Tomtishen filed several charges against Dylan Michael Carey, 19, of 444 W. Girard St., Atlas, including driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, related to an April 8 traffic stop near Route 61 and West Saylor Street.
He said there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and noted Carey, who was the operator, exhibited several signs of being under the influence. He was unable to properly complete a field sobriety test and submitted to a blood draw.
During a search of the vehicle, Tomtishen uncovered 25.6 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
MOUNT CARMEL — Mustafa M. Abuomar, 60, of 239 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with indirect criminal contempt for allegedly violating a court order.
Eman Abuomar, who has a protection from abuse (PFA) order against Mustafa Abuomar, reported that while in Harrisburg with her son on Feb. 11, Mustafa entered her home and placed 15 bags of clothing inside the front door. He had been evicted from the house related to the PFA.
The clothing was related to Mustafa Abuomar’s concerns that Eman Abuomar is becoming Americanized and that wearing the wrong type of clothing would be against their culture.
