Duke Street project

NORTHUMBERLAND — PennDOT reports this update on the $13.7 million Duke Street Reconstruction Project:

Next week, there will be gas line relocation on Front Street between B Street and Hanover Street and there will be overhead utility work on Duke Street and Front Street. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers or lane shifts. Delays are expected.

Duke Street is open to car traffic only. A truck detour remains in place for all trucks over 36 feet in length. Those not making local deliveries are being ticketed by local police departments.

There will be a public meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Front Street Station, 2 Front St., at which representatives of PennDOT, the contractor and design consultant will be in attendance. There will be a presentation on the 2018 construction schedule, after which attendees will be provided with an opportunity to view project displays and ask questions.
