SHAMOKIN — A Bucknell University student’s internship in the City of Shamokin could be the catalyst for city officials to begin addressing a growing problem that has received little attention in recent years — homelessness.

Genevieve Block, a third-year geography student, recently concluded a semester-long study of homelessness in Shamokin through the university’s environmental studies department.
