channel cats

While many people think of the channel cat as a nighttime predator, hungry cats can be caught any hour of the day or night.

When most people think about fishing for channel cats, they picture a group of anglers huddled near a lantern, passing the time joking among themselves and waiting for a hungry cat to pick up the bait.

I too do most of my channel cat fishing after dark, but the truth be told, channel cats can be taken 24 hours a day. You see, channel cats and I have at least two things in common: whiskers and the desire to feed when hungry. Morning, noon or night, if the urge strikes, catfish and whiskered old outdoor writers will feed.
