The curtain fell on Elysburg’s All-Home Days celebration last night, marking the conclusion of one of the most successful events in the program’s 39-year-old history.
Concluding activities over the weekend included Union Sunday School and church services, a flower show, a baby parade and a quoit tournament. A variety show last night climaxed the five-day celebration.
Residents of Elysburg and former residents of the community joined with area townspeople in commending the committee in charge of arrangements for this year’s outstanding program. Residents said the program was one of the finest ever staged in Ralpho Township.
Weather throughout the observance was ideal with the exception of yesterday afternoon and evening, when a cold front had a telling effect on attendance. The observance opened Wednesday with a pet parade and continued each night until last evening.
