Ashley Park, a three-time Boston Marathon finisher and native of the Shamokin area, encourages marathon hopefuls to not lose their sense of accomplishment because races have been scrapped.

Organizers canceled the Boston Marathon for the first time in its 124-year history, bowing to the social distancing requirements of the coronavirus outbreak and ending the prestigious run that had persisted through two World Wars, a volcanic eruption and even another pandemic.
