SUNBURY — The Moyer family has offered quality furnishings for nearly 90 years.
Located at 35 S. Fourth St., the Benjamin T. Moyer Furniture store features a 22,000-square-foot showroom and delivery throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.
The business is operated by third-generation family member David J. Moyer and several employees. David’s grandfather, Benjamin T. Moyer, founded the business in 1935 in a small, rented building on Fifth Street.
He ran the store until 1970 when David B. Moyer entered the family business. The company’s namesake retired in 1985 after 50 years.
In 1997, David J. Moyer became a partner and, in 2014, became sole operator following his father’s retirement.
“We treat each customer with honesty, respect and integrity. Our success over the years is built on one simple idea: ‘Satisfying our customers,’” David J. Moyer stated of the business’ goal. “Since 1935, we have achieved over 99% customer satisfaction. Isn’t that what it’s all about?”
The business has exclusively sold Shifman Mattresses, which it described as the “finest handmade mattresses” available. The American-made bedding is two-sided, filled with natural cotton padding, which allows it to retain its shape and comfort longer than any one-sided mattress.
Free delivery and removal of the old set is available within 40 miles of the store. Longer distance deliveries are available at a reasonable rate.
The business also offers a wide selection of sofas, loveseats, chairs, recliners,bedrooms, dining rooms, outdoor/patio furniture as well as accessories, such as wall art, rugs, lamps, clocks, bar cabinets and coat trees.
Most recently they have expanded their offering of commercial furnishings with recent projects such as The Rusty Rail, Three Beards Brewery and Susquehanna University.
