Brewser's SportsGrille Super Bowl party

Brewser’s SportsGrille was jam-packed with NFL fans during its annual private Super Bowl party in February.

COAL TOWNSHIP — Brewser’s SportsGrille has been the place to be for the past 10 years and counting.

Co-owners Gene Welsh III and Dan Hauer conceived of the restaurant while roommates in college and made it a dream come true when the doors opened at 839 W. Water St. in 2008.

Brewser’s specialty burgers remain a fan favorite, with new additions being added throughout the years. Customers enjoy “Burger Madness” every March and August when burgers can be enjoyed with Brewser’s famous homemade chips for $6. Due to popular demand, the $6 burger deal is also offered Mondays and Thursdays of every month.

The bar expanded from the original eight taps to an ever-revolving selection of 16 taps. Welsh said the drafts are always changing to keep up to date on new trends, and they frequently hold tap takeovers with beer distributors and breweries for craft enthusiasts to try the latest products.

Brewser’s dares beer lovers to take a trip around the world with the Brew Crew Beer Tour. With more than 100 beers in stock ranging from local to international, customers are invited to keep track of the beers they drink and once they reach 100, they receive a personalized polo shirt and their name added to a plaque on the wall. Some customers have been daring enough to complete the tour more than once.

Food and drink specials are offered daily and Sundays are reserved for Wetzel’s home-cooked meals. A lunch menu is offered on weekdays, perfect for those with a short lunch break. Orders can be called ahead or placed online through a new service offered at www.brewsers.com.

Wetzel has helped grow a catering business at the restaurant for which she created a detailed menu for any size party. From beautifully crafted fruit trays to party trays, entrees and more, Brewser’s is able to provide pick-up or delivery on all orders.

Brewser’s is always looking to help out the community by giving back through benefit nights. Organizations working on fundraising can set up a special night at Brewser’s in which a percentage of sales go directly to the group. Call or stop in to set up a fundraising night.

Off-premise catering is also offered for a buffet-style meal complete with staff to serve.

Parties are invited to reserve one of two side rooms with space for 24 to 32 people in the restaurant for events. A select menu or buffet can be arranged in advance, or guests can order from the menu.

With 18 televisions, every day at Brewser’s is game day, and Welsh invites sports fans to stop by for big games.

Welsh said they employ about 30 people, including several who have been there since the beginning. The friendly staff is what has allowed them to maintain growth and business, Welsh said.

Brewser’s is looking to expand its team, seeking cooks willing to work flexible hours. Interested parties are encouraged to apply. Applications are kept on file to review when positions become available.
