SHAMOKIN — George B. Keiser Co., 34 W. Chestnut St., is a family-owned, family-operated plumbing, heating and air conditioning wholesale supplier.

Four generations of the family have been involved with the company, which has been in business for about 80 years. George B. Keiser founded the company and passed the reins to his son, Ralph, and his wife, Iris. Ralph and Iris’ only son, Richard, married Helen and they now maintain ownership of the company. Their son, Chris, is the store manager. Chris and his wife, Jaimee, also have a son, Collin.

The original store was on Market Street, but the firm moved to the old Yoch’s Bakery about 25 years ago.

George B. Keiser Co. employs eight people who have been with the firm for 30-plus years. They sell to contractors, plumbers and HVAC installers, as well as to the general public.

“We pride ourselves on customer service and offering the area’s best prices with experience to back up the sale,” said manager Chris Keiser. “We offer a wide range of products to serve all your plumbing and heating needs.

The business is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“We pride ourselves that we are different than box stores, outlets or online sites because we offer the service and spend the time with our customers,” Keiser said. “We also have a knowledgeable staff that is willing to take the time to help. Many of our customers are repeat regular customers, some have been customers for many years. We offer not just good prices but also quality and knowledgeable service to our customers.”

George B. Keiser Co. is proud to be an active member in the community and feels it is its responsibility to give back to the community that always has supported the company. Some of the programs the company supports are its annual Janet Weis Christmas Toy Drive, local sports teams — GO COUGARS! — area schools and the community arts. The company also is a proud member of Shamokin Area Businesses for Economic Revitalization (SABRE).

The Keisers have an approximate delivery radius of 60 miles from Shamokin.

“We wouldn’t be what we are without our dedicated employees and our loyal customers, who have blessed us with their continued support throughout the years,” Keiser said. “Stop by for any of your plumbing, heating and A/C needs!”
