SHAMOKIN — Mattis and Mattis has been providing clients from throughout the area with hands-on legal representation since 1991. Mattis and Mattis is a husband and wife team consisting of H. Robert Mattis Jr. and Caran Cress Mattis. There are no associates in the firm so all cases are handled directly by one or both of the partners.

The law practice has been located at 12 W. Lincoln Street since 1991. H. Robert Mattis Jr. has been practicing in the community since 1979 when he opened his office in the Masonic Build, located above the former Fun Shop. The couple married in 1990 and moved their joint law practice to the Lincoln Street location the next year.

Caran Cress Mattis is a former judicial law clerk of Judge Samuel C. Ranck. She is also licensed as a registered nurse and maintains her license by complying with continuing medical education requirements. She graduated from the Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing and worked at Geisinger. She later enrolled at Bucknell and graduated Phi Betta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude with degrees in psychology and history before obtaining her law degree from the Dickinson School of Law.

H. Robert Mattis Jr. is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster and the New York University School of Law. He served as solicitor for the City of Shamokin for six years beginning in 2008. He is active with the Shamokin Area High School Alumni Association and served as its president in 2012.

The pair specializes in family law, including divorce, custody, adoptions and protection from abuse actions, as well as real estate, wills trusts, powers-of-attorney, and estate administration.

Along with office administrator Tiffany Spears, the attorneys of Mattis and Mattis use their vast knowledge and experiences to guarantee that full preparation and solid legal representation is provided in every case entrusted to their office.
