MOUNT CARMEL — For the past 55 years, family-owned and operated Scicchitano ACE Hardware, 27 N. Oak St., has been a trusted retailer in the Mount Carmel community.
Scicchitano ACE Hardware is part of the world’s largest hardware retail cooperative, which provides a wide selection of hardware products and tools at competitive prices.
Last year, the business expanded its grilling section due to customer demand and is also carrying lines of grilling accessories, such as rubs, pellets and other cooking items.
“We now have a new grilling section in our showroom, which has a wide range of products to choose from on display,” said Rich Kotwica, sales manager at Scicchitano Ace Hardware.
New for 2022, Kotwica said the business will soon be increasing its selection of battery-powered tools as consumers are beginning to move away from gas-powered items. Kotwica said the store’s ever-changing inventory is often guided by recommendations from the ACE Hardware network, a nationwide franchise of stores.
“They’re always making recommendations to us,” he said. “They understand the national markets and we understand the local market so together we have a great selection of what customers are typically looking for.”
Kotwica said Scicchitano Ace Hardware in Mount Carmel has experienced employees ready to help customers with any needs.
“We are all equipped to help someone out and even let people know if they are going in the wrong direction with things,” he said.
In its paint studio, the store is now a Benjamin Moore retailer.
Kotwica pointed out that there has been an increased demand for new appliances and home improvement products since the advent of COVID-19.
“With more people staying at home during the pandemic, we’ve seen a higher demand for many of our products, such as appliances,” he explained. “We always do our best to get people the items they’re looking for as soon as possible.”
Scicchitano ACE carries Whirlpool, Maytag and Kitchen Aid name-brand appliances, along with Oreck vacuums. They offer prompt delivery and professional installation, as well as service after the sale. Kotwica said supply chain issues with appliances have affected the store’s inventory, but said they are prepared to do whatever possible to help customers who are in the market for new appliances.
A variety of high-quality hand and power tools are available for purchase. Outdoor power equipment includes battery and electric-operated equipment by Stihl.
They have a large selection of plumbing and electrical supplies, as well as in-store key cutting, glass and screen repair services. There are also a variety of flooring options to choose from.
