Whispering Oaks Winery

Whispering Oaks Winery sits on a 22-acre property along Route 61 in Sunbury, which includes two acres of grapevines and a panoramic view of the valley that is simply breathtaking. The business boasts a 6,000 square foot building that includes 3,400 square feet of open space that makes for an ideal location for weddings and other large events. The deck that extends from the rear of the building measures over 2,000 square feet.

Whispering Oaks Vineyard is a large family-owned and operated vineyard, winery and event venue that sits on a hill overlooking Route 61 about two miles east of Sunbury. Open Thursday through Sunday. Tasting room hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The facility, which features multiple wood accents, contains several bars on two floors, a large banquet area known as Cill Dara (church of the oak in Gaelic) for weddings and other functions that has a capacity of 299, a smaller hall called a “speakeasy” in the basement for wedding and baby showers, and birthday parties that holds 100, a bridal suite, a loft, beautiful deck and wine-making area.

Stop by for your favorite bottle in the root cellar, Whispering Oak’s popular tasting room where you can sit back and enjoy an evening out with friends. Live music is featured every Thursday.

Whispering Oaks provides beautiful scenery perfect for adding extra romance to your wedding or to provide a touch of nature to your special event, from the vines in the spring to the changing leaves in the fall.

The complex also contains a parking area for 150 vehicles and two acres of vineyard.
