Man killed crossing Rt. 11

Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley and other authorities responded to a fatal pedestrian accident Monday evening on Route 11 north of Northumberland. The victim, a man in his 70s who lived near the scene, was crossing the highway from a convenience store when he was struck by a white Toyota SUV, seen at left. The coroner’s office and Point Township police are investigating. The highway was shut down in both directions for several hours.
