SHAMOKIN — The Anthracite Symphonic Band will present its “Christmas Around the World” concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the auditorium of the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center, 2 E. Arch St.

Under the direction of Kevin Styer, the band will present classic Christmas repertoire. Selections will include “A Cambridge Carol,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Noel Francais” and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleighride.”

The public will be encouraged to sing along to Ployhar’s “Christmas Sing-A-Long.”

The cost of admission at the door will be $5. The public is invited to come out for an enjoyable evening of holiday music and to support the band.

Musicians wanting to be a member of this and other performances are asked to email State your name, instrument and contact information when registering. Rehearsals will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 27, Dec. 4 and Dec. 10 at the center. Participants should be available for all rehearsals.
