SUNBURY — Attorneys for two men charged in connection with the 2017 murder of 33-year-old Sean Maschal, of Mount Carmel, presented arguments Monday morning regarding a motion to consolidate the trial.

Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz and court-appointed attorney Kathleen Lincoln, who represents David Matthew Brown, 36, of Ashland, opposed having a consolidated trial for Brown and Brian George Heffner, 38, of Coal Township, who is accused of shooting Maschal to death Sept. 12, 2017, near Locust Gap.
