SOMERSET — The man convicted of providing a 9-year-old Point Township boy with 12 times the adult dose of oxycodone, which led to the child’s death, has died at age 63 while in prison.

Victor Hare III, formerly of Point Township, died of natural causes on Wednesday at SCI-Laurel Highlands, according to state Department of Corrections communications director Susan McNaughton.
