SHAMOKIN — A heated Shamokin City Council meeting Monday began with an apology from a sitting councilwoman and concluded with a member of the public being escorted from the premises by Chief of Police Darwin Tobias III.

Councilwoman Jennifer Seidel apologized publicly for referring to fellow Councilman Scott Roughton as “rodent” in a text message with resident Joe Leschinskie shortly after the election last November. Leschinskie helped campaign for Seidel during her run for council.

The thing is that this is only one issue. The an employee and the mayor say that they have approved information requested through a write to know then ask for time to get you the info and you agree with it and then months go buy and you check in multiple times and the employee and staff say that another employee has been sending you the info then when you talk to that employee they say I have not had the time. Then next time they say they sent you some and nothing came through so then dropping off a thumb drive to get the info and then you get told no we are not giving in they strung you along for months. The information is public and they just play games there must be an investigation not only due to council members but include mayor and paid employees.
