SHAMOKIN — A couple have been charged with possessing methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy and more than $5,000 in cash during a visit to their home Friday by Northumberland County adult probation and parole officers.
Wayne S. Kratzer, 54, and Jennifer McGinley, 36, both of 619 W. Pine St., are charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with a felony of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the couple possessed clear plastic baggies containing methamphetamine, two scales, packaging material consistent with the resale of methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy in a pill bottle, two glass smoking pipes used to ingest narcotics and $5,315 in cash.
The drugs and paraphernalia were discovered during a visit to check on Kratzer, who is on probation.
McGinley was arraigned by video at about 8 p.m. by on-call Magisterial District Judge William Cole, of Mount Carmel. She was committed to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $35,000 cash bail.
Kratzer was incarcerated on a probation detainer.
