SUNBURY — A former Northumberland County Public Assistance Office employee, who was charged in October by the state Attorney General’s Office with using electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards of public assistance recipients to make unauthorized purchases totaling more than $8,600, was sentenced Monday to seven years of supervised probation and must make full restitution.

Jenifer Lee Curcie, 40, of Coal Township, received the sentence from Northumberland County Judge Hugh A. Jones after pleading guilty Monday to theft by deception and making false statements.
