SHAMOKIN — Four defendants entered guilty pleas Tuesday and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a fine and costs. They are:

• Heidi Lee McCarthy, 26, of 510 N. Eighth St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to use drug paraphernaliaand was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs. McCarthy was also placed on a one year probation.

McCarthy was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Scott C. Weaver in relation to an incident on June 3.

• Thomas Joseph Anello, 49, of 424 W. Spruce St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to simple assault and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on one year probation. A charge of harrassment was withdrawn.

Anello was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II in connection with a July 1 incident at the residence.

• Chad M. Howard, 37, of 680 Mountain Road, Paxinos, pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking or disposition relating to an incident on March 13. Howard was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on a one year probation. A charge of criminal trespassing was withdrawn.

• April Annamarie Moss, 30, of 825 Spruce St., Kulpmont, pleaded guilty to retail theft and was ordered to pay a $300 fine and placed on a one year probation.

Moss was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Christopher D. Williams relating to an incident on Feb. 15.
