Guilty pleas

SHAMOKIN — Three defendants entered guilty pleas Tuesday and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay fines and costs.

• Shane M. Hart, 29, of 214 Cedar Road, Paxinos, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs.

Hart was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano with possessing a marijuana and Spice smoking device on July 26 at Commerce and Ninth streets.

• Benjamin A. Jeremiah, 22, of 1137 W. Wood St., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for six months.

Charges of possession of marijuana and loitering and prowling at night were withdrawn.

Shamokin Patrolman Scott Weaver charged Jeremiah with possessing a small amount of marijuana and a pipe containing marijuana residue in the first block of South Market Street on May 28.

• Michael J. Leiby, 34, of 505 Woodlawn Ave., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for six months.

Charges of public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia were withdrawn.

Leiby was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Ed Purcell with possessing a small amount of Spice and a Percocet pill on Bear Valley Road on July 29.
