SHAMOKIN — Three defendants entered guilty pleas Tuesday and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay fines and costs.

• Matthew Dietz, 28, of Atlas, who is currently in Columbia County Prison, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for one year.

Additional charges of resisting arrest, loitering and prowling at night and criminal trespass were withdrawn.

Dietz was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano in connection with an April 3 incident at Cherry and Hemlock streets.

• Dennis Everett Miller, 35, of 1306 W. State St., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs.

A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn.

Miller was charged by Trooper Dominic Picerno of state police at Stonington relating to a Feb. 10 incident on East Independence Street in Shamokin.

• Sabrina Hummel, 35, of 1224 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs.

A charge of simple assault was withdrawn.

Hummel was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Edwad Purcell with pushing Linda Regester, causing her to fall and strike her head on a kitchen cabinet on Feb. 5 at 1224 Pulaski Ave.

MOUNT CARMEL — Two defendants pleaded guilty to charges May 8 before Magisterial District Judge William Cole and were ordered to pay fines and costs.

• Margaret E. Myer, 52, of 219 Park St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by unlawful taking and was ordered to pay $500 in fines plus costs and placed on probation for one year.

Charges of retail theft and possession of a small amount of marijuana were withdrawn.

Myer was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman William Adamski in connection with an April 17 theft at the Dollar General store.

• Jeremiah Jashinskie, 36, of 240 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for one year.

Additional charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct were withdrawn.

Jashinskie was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Kyle Schauer relating to an April 26 disturbance at Fifth and Vine streets.
